Get Your Recovery Supplies In Advance

Don't make the mistake of assuming that your recovery will go perfectly and that you won't need any medical supplies for assistance. It is a good idea to have all of those things ready to go before you go in for your dental implant surgery. Have extra gauze on hand to help stop bleeding, pain medication ready to take, and even a comfy spot set up for you to lay down. Your goal should be to have everything ready so that you do not have to scramble around at the last minute while you are in pain.

Learn How To Make Ice Packs

It is recommended that you ice down your face to help swelling go down after the surgery. However, ice can feel uncomfortable and quickly melt, making it impractical to use when you are trying to rest and not move. Try DIY ice packs instead as a creative solution. Just mix water (2 cups) with rubbing alcohol (1 cup) in a sealed plastic bag. Put it into your freezer before you go in for your surgery, and it will be ready to go when you get home. The ice pack will feel slushy and comfortable by conforming to your face.

About Me

Tooth Pain and Gum Inflammation: Get Answers Here

About seven months ago, my gums began to bleed whenever I brushed my teeth. At first, I didn't think much about the blood, as it was only a small amount at the time. But as time passed, my gums began to bleed a lot, even when I didn't brush my teeth. I also experienced a weird taste in my mouth that made my breath smell foul. My sister suggested that I make an appointment with a dentist. She recognized the signs of gum disease and knew that if I didn't seek treatment now, the disease would only get worse. I took my sister's advice and visited a local dentist. The dentist diagnosed me with advanced gum disease and began treatment immediately. If you notice strange things happening in your mouth, don't ignore them. My blog can help you learn more about your oral health and how to protect it. Thanks.
